Women’s Weekly
Wednesday League
The league is set up so women golfers of all abilities can choose to play either 9- or 18-hole rounds on Wednesday mornings from early May through mid-September. The CGCC Golf Pro, Steven Simeon, organizes diverse game formats, ensuring players can post scores for an accurate handicap. Steven also handles pairings and announces weekly winners. The League is a friendly group that gathers for lunch together after golf in the Grill Room. At the end of the season, league members celebrate with a special luncheon, where prizes are awarded, including for example, most improved, highest league attendance, lowest ringer score, and more. The Duntz-Gazzera
Wednesday Night League
A men’s league comprising two-man teams who compete over the course of the season for bragging rights and a prize. Matches are 9 holes, are held on Wednesday evenings, and are followed by a buffet dinner providing ample opportunity to socialize.
Tournaments
The President’s Charity Tournament
Kicking the season off on Memorial Day weekend, this tournament is open to all members and their guests, is played in a scramble format to make it more social than competitive, and raises money for local charities selected by the Board from member recommendations. The tournament is followed by a BBQ open to all members, golfers or not.
The “Knockout”
A season long, mixed gender series of bracket matches, handicapped to allow any interested member to play and have a chance to win. Starting with 64 players in May, we work our way all the way down to a championship match in September.
Women’s Invitational
Open to golfers of all skill levels, this annual event features a fun format, continental breakfast, and celebratory buffet. Limited to 40 teams.
The Member-Member Championship
A two-day championship with 2 person teams (men, women or mixed), handicapped and flighted to make it accessible to everyone. This tournament features alternating formats over four 9-hole matches to provide a little extra excitement. Flight winners play in an exciting three-hole shootout.
CGCC Women’s Solheim Cup
This annual, spirited women’s team event is held in September for women of all handicaps. Players are split into two teams to compete for the Cup.
The Club Championships
The Club hosts stroke play championships for seniors and all golfers as well as a series of match play championships flighted by handicap over Labor Day weekend.
